revlon still scented

Ok so I’ve had the Revlon scented polish on since Sunday and it still smells not a strongly as before but u can still catch the scent I’m surprised at how well the polish is lasting given that I didn’t topcoat it, I was even on the till part of yesterday and normally that is what messes up my nails the most coz I get really bad tip wear. BTW sorry I forgot to get a pic of this as a fresh Mani so please excuse the scruffiness , the longer I wear the colour the more I like it , I actually thought it was a bit of a dupe for my rimmel--- but this is a much warmer colour more an ivory than a white

So I was in boots yesterday tryin to get all the bits and pieces needed to make bath salts with the teenagers @ youth club for mothers day soo I just had to have a look around the makeup stands to see what was new nail polish wise and every stand seems to have new colours out I really had to restrain myself I have been after a nice peach crème finish so I picked up this 17 lasting fix in orange soda I have yet to try it on my own nails but my sister is wearing it along with 17 lasting fix in lemon fizz these ones take a while to dry but tey are really opaque so I find 2 coats enough

Then of this new crackle top coat caught my eye (I really think they put those just in stickers to make me spend more money) I love the colour but the crackle pattern isn’t exactly awe inspiring you have to apply it really thin or it won’t crack I will keep at it though coz I like the colour its what I would describe as a platinum colour it has a similar consistency as the china glaze ones rather than the Barry m crackle polish

My last purchase of the day was the new Revlon scented nail polish in colour 340 coconut crush when it dries it is sented they have – colours but I figured I will get a lot of use out of the pearl white finnish  not a  particularly unique colour but sented nail polish.. of course I’m gonna have to have some lol it is pretty scented it first dries 2^nd day in it still smells good but not a s strong I kinda wanna see how long it lasts it really just a bit of fun coz I won’t be able to top coat it or it will lose the smell so it’s a short term Mani will let you guys know how it goes

I love the idea of the scented nail polish but I wish you could smell it before you buy it the consistency is good a little thinner than the normal Revlon it takes 3-4 coats to make it opaque I guess it is gimmicky coz it’s not like I’m gonna walk around smelling my nails all day but it’s a bit of fun for the summer r perfect for me to wear until I sort out my ‘car’ colour speaking of which I did swatch the 17 crackle top coat over china glaze sea spray and I love the really subtle effect I got

I am getting a new car so my latest quest is a polish to match it I’m getting it sometime this coming weekend but I really think I need to have the car before I can get a perfect match I think sea spray is close it may just need a tweak with a touch more blue it’s a hard colour to carry in your head so we shall see lol I have to say I’m very excited about my car this past week has went soooooo slowly but then it always does when your waiting on something doesn’t it

I did have to laugh though when I went into sally’s to buy china glaze –sea spray the girl said ‘oh I love yor nails did u hand paint that and I said that it was the  new china glaze crackle polish and she said 'no china glaze don’t do one are u sure it isn’t opi' and I was all like no coz its only out in black at the moment this is the china glaze oone and it was only when I showed her the bottle (I always carry whatever colours I’m wearing in case I need to touch up)  she listened to me lol

Hi again so I have to say I have very little to report my current Mani needs replaced and I didn’t think to photograph it when it was just done so sorry about the general wear in the picture I used Barry m 312 indigo along with china glaze crackle in crushed candy? I got the Barry m one (along with another i cant remember the name of) for my birthday the other day from my aunt which surprisingly I didn’t have or a dupe for it mind u her first words to me were u probably already have these but I tried .  the Mani was to match my outfit last Sunday and has lasted fairly well but I usually do get 5-7 days from my Mani anyways I’m still undecided about the seche vite base coat i mean it seems to be working fine guess I was just used to my sally Hansen one I liked the colour combo or the 2 colours I got a lot of compliments on this

I bought /ordered a new colour chart for my nail polish you can swatch up to---colour so I ordered 2 so I can display some nail art on the other one its coming from china though so it will probably take an age to come it’s one of those eBay purchases u kinda have to forget about then when it comes it’s a bonus lol I will take pics when it comes and report back

I had to get an new base coat coz my old one is done I can’t get a replacement one anywhere well I could probably get it online but I didn’t want to wait on it I got the seche vite clear base coat so we will see how it goes

china glaze crackle polish

Well it came and I guess I have mixed reports for you while the colours are great it is harder to work with, it won’t crack if you apply too thick a coat which is somewhat upsetting as I kinda prefer the look achieved by applying the Barry m one really thickly

Anyways here’s how I got on

Well I’m still waiting on my china glaze crack polish arriving feels like it will never get here I didn’t order the grey or the black in it coz grey really isn’t me and as u guys know I have the black Barry m one so I just ordered the other 4 colours, I have been trying to push an extra day out of my Mani coz I just know that as soon as I change it the new ones will come

I decided that since I had fixed it my new mani had to be my Sephora no.55 I just did a quick contrasting  diagonal with crackle over the top using nyc French tip white 134 for the diagonal and Barry m crackle effect I thought it was really effective (even if it was a bit chav lol)  I’ve had my Barry m since before Halloween and I’m actually onto my 2^nd bottle after the girls at youth club went crackle mad lol, I have yet to buy the opi version because to be honest I’m not completely convinced that it’s that different to the Barry m one which is only a fraction of the price, however I am looking forward to getting  the china glaze version which comes in 6 different colours and I intend to buy 4 of them….at least

I have to rave about seche vite restore for fixing my very 1^st and fave turquoise nail polish my aunt brought it back from holidays and until last week it was a sticky mess that I couldn’t bring myself to through it out…am I ever glad I didn’t! It’s a tip I picked up from scrangie (http://www.scrangie.com/2008/12/restoring-polish-quite-possibly-most.html ) so check it out 

...Never again will I have to get rid of an old favourite nail polish

shopping 4 my acrylics kit

Went for a trip to replenish my acrylic kit today and I was unusually well behaved I only bought what I needed and didn’t buy any pretty new colours of acrylic powder- wish I could say the same about the rest of my shopping trip  let’s just say I won’t be shopping for a while J

So 2day disaster struck lol all of the nail polish peeled off my nail … I hate it when that happens I’m going to do one of my wee ladies nails after work so I won’t even have time to fix it 2night the rest are all perfect though so I will have 2 just re-do that one 1^st thing in the morning

Ok so I know illamasqua is an expencive  bottle of nail polish @ £13.50 but I had to have this one as soon a s I saw it I was lucky enough to pick it up as part of a 2pc gift set on asos.com the set came with 2 nail polishes from the art of darkness collection they were viridian there easiest way to describe that one is peacock colour (blue/green shift) its beautiful the other colour was scarab a pretty copper/brown with a dark red shimmer they wear fairly well and only need 2 coats . The gold colour is one of the minis from the opi burlesque collection rising star

All I did was paint a base colour all over then let it completely dry crossed over 2 French tip guides and placed them down the centre of each nail

Paint down each side with the 2^nd colour, you can remove the guides pretty much right away in fact its better if you do coz if you have any seeping under the guides you can clean it up while its still wet which is easier

Let that dry then add a cross design up the middle for a corset effect

Use your fav top coat I recommend seche vite speed dry, china glaze fast forward or sally Hansen insta dry and your done

The only way I’m able to keep track of all my nail polish is to use nail wheels atm I’m not a s organised as I would like, I do have a list of what each letter/number is but it has gone missing so I think I may have to start over L I like to keep them in colours rather than in the order I buy them as I’ve seen some people do

It has become my conscience I do now ask myself ‘do you really need another turquoise  ... is it really that different?’  Sometimes the nail polish wins though

 

I got my nail wheels from eBay they weren’t that expensive and I have to say they make my life way easier even without my list I can usually work out what’s what anyway I like this design coz its mot as flimsy as some of the ones I have seen
